MONCTON, NB -- May 12, 2008 -- Roméo Boucher, 66, of Greater Lakeburn, NB, passed away on Thursday, May 8th, 2008. Boucher was the co-founder of Universal Auto Body Supplies. Funeral services were held today at Chartersville Funeral Home Chapel. Services were followed by interment in the Notre-Dame du Calvaire Cemetery in Dieppe, NB. Born in Cocagne, NB, Boucher was the son of Albert Boucher and the late Lorraine (née: Goguen) Boucher. In addition to his work in the collision repair supply business, Boucher was an avid hockey player and keen horseman. He was the owner of Boucher Racing Stables in Greater Lakeburn, a member of the United States Trotting Association and Standardbred Canada; past-president of both the NB Harness Racing Association and the Moncton Horsemen's Association. Besides his father, Albert of Moncton, he is survived by his wife, Joyce (née: Esterbrooks); two daughters: Sharon (Craig) of Petitcodiac and Debbie (Euclide) of Lakeville; two sons: Mike (MarieAnne) of Lakeville and Robert of Lakeburn; two sisters: Juliette (Ozzie) Babineau and Diane (Francis) Melanson, both of Moncton; four brothers: Don (Joyce) of Hampton, NB, Oscar (Starr) of Riverview, Reg (Gwen) of Moncton and Stewart (Jackie) of Shediac Bridge; six grandchildren: Jonathan, Jessica, Erica, Emily, Derrick and Crystal as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his mother, he was predeceased by one son, Brian and also one brother, Leonard. Donation to the Dr Georges-L. Dumont Hospital Foundation "Dialysis Unit" would be appreciated by the family.
