TRENTON, ON -- May 12, 2008 -- After close to 30 years in the collision industry, Merv Heffernan has decided to retire.
Heffernan started Quinte Bumper & Fender (QBF) with his wife Barb in the basement of their home. QBF grew to four locations in Ontario and Quebec and along the way incorporated Zenith Plating into the business.
In January 2004 Keystone Automotive acquired QBF and a new chapter in Merv’s career began. Appointed to the position of director of industry relations for Canada, Heffernan kept in touch with the industry and managed the Trenton Hub and Rubber Plant.
Always active in sports, Heffernan started and has coached the Brighton Keystone Orange Men’s Soccer Club since 2002 and he will spend more time on that passion. He recently completed a half marathon on his 62nd birthday, and looks forward to devoting more time to working around his farm property.
“May 23 will be my last day on the job officially,” says Heffernan. “I wish to say from my heart that the old saying to, ‘find something to do that you love and you will never have to work a day in your life,’ truly applies to me. I have been blessed and I want to wish all of you my fondest regards and best wishes.”
