HOFFMAN ESTATES, IL -- July 15, 2008 -- The collision industry reached a new turning point yesterday with the announcement that 2.5 million repair professionals have taken I-CAR Live training. "The fact that 2.5 million students have now taken I-CAR training is truly a noteworthy training achievement and milestone for the collision repair inter-industry," remarked John Edelen, I-CAR president and CEO. "This milestone is evidence that the collision industry values training, and values I-CAR as a provider of that training," Edelen added. The 2.5 millionth collision tech to take the training is Abraham Deleon of Mr. Polish Auto Body in L.A. As recognition for his achievement, he was awarded two free Live Training Programs and two free Online Training Programs. Both equate to 1.5 I-CAR Points once completed. Norma Rodriguez, shop manager for Mr. Polish Auto Body registered Abraham Deleon for the Vehicle Identification, Estimating Systems, and Terminology Live Training program. "We were all pleasantly surprised about the news," Rodriguez said. "Abraham felt the class was beneficial to him and for what he does as a Master Technician. I know he is looking forward to taking more training with I-CAR." The staggering number of techs and professionals who have gone through Live training is remarkable because it proves just how much professionalism there is within the inter-industry. "It is amazing to me to think how many hours the inter-industry has dedicated to continued training," declared Jeff Peevy, I-CAR Director of Field Operations in North America. "The inter-industry has devoted 10 million hours to training. This is truly a mark of dedication on the part of I-CAR and the inter-industry."
