Toronto, Ontario -- February 13, 2014 -- While the Canadian International AutoShow (CIAS) is always about the debuts of the latest production models and concepts, the 2014 edition's introduction of the AutoConnect Showcase will take the convention to the next stage of automobile innovation.

The latest addition to CIAS will focus on autonomous cars and its technologies, including advanced connectivity, advanced driver assistance and safety technologies.

Visitors will be able to view any of the nine attending automakers' booths, each of which will be showing off their latest projects through focused presentations and interactive exhibits. Examples include Infinit's Predicitve Forward Collision Warning system, Mazda's i-ACTIVSENSE advanced saftey technologies and Subaru's EyeSight system.

Mercedes-Benz leads the way with suite technologies, providing convention attendees the opportunity try out the company's S-Class "hands off" steering simulator. Ford will also have its C-MAX Energi on-hand to demonstrate parallel parking, utilizing the company's Active Park Assist system to illustrate its own "no hands" approach to autonomous driving.

CIAS runs from Feb. 14 to Feb. 23, 2014, and is located at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
