Topic History of: High Solid coatings

Mike Davey I remember reading a news story out of the States a little while back that dealt with Ford opening what they called the "paint shop of the future." The coatings being used were high-solid. Does anyone out there know anything about high-solid coatings? From the name, I'm guessing that it's a new formulation that greatly reduces the need for any kind of base, i.e., the mixture is almost entirely paint, rather than a bit of paint and a medium to carry it.
