Toyota Insurance 1 Year, 3 Months ago
|
|
|
I was curious how people felt regarding Toyota's new move to provide insurance in the dealership business office. How do think insurers will react? Do you think this will help change our ailing industry, or hurt it?
I believe that this is a fantastic move and Toyota's customer retention should improve. I hear that they are going to require only OEM parts for their claims and will not be negotiating discounts.
I wonder if the other manufacturers will follow suit?
Opinions appreciated.

Toyota will provide the proving grounds and is success follows, so will the other manufactures. It's WIN-WIN for them. There is profits to be made from insurance premium as well as the only OEM part sales.
Will the aftermakets follow suits with their taylor made insurance program? Only time will tell.

Toyota's move will help the industry by lessening the monopoly that exists today by insurers. They will be more concerned with quality repairs without putting cost of repairs at the top of the requirement list. I hope the rest of the OEM's catch on and realize that the customers have more loyalty for their car manufacturer, than their insurer.
