Everyone is very aware of the industrys's shortage of qualified technicians. I have to wonder if there anyone can give me any reason why we aren't targeting more women since it is my opinion it is a great opportunity for everyone to benefit. I have noticed that the women in the industry currently are very particular and I have not noticed the "good enough attitude." Am I the only one in this situation? This is also an excellent opportunity for women to earn a decent wage.
Please enlighten me!

There's been a bit of a push to get more women involved/interested in the skilled trades, but I think a lot more could be done. On the other hand, Sheila Loftus' Women's Information Network seems to have done fairly well in its first year, and NACE has introduced a Women's Professional Development Track in 2007. With that said, I actually consider that track to be a bit sexist. Is the path women use different from that of men?

I teach collision repair and have had several females through the years. I have found them to be outstanding students that do an excellent job. I wish more would enter the collision industry.
